Red Faction: Armageddon’s unwarranted reputation. It’s something that’s puzzling to me. I understand the disappointment in this not being an open-world game–there’s a lot of potential there–but Volition already had a sandbox game coming to the market later the same year in Saint’s Row: The Third. I doubt they wanted to cannibalize their own sales with a similar game, and it makes perfect sense to me why they went the route they did with Red Faction. The fact remains that Armageddon’s still a fun shooter, and it’s easily worth your time. Provided you can find it for a low price (and you can), check it out for yourself.
